What to Expect
Sunday mornings at Wesley are a time to gather for fellowship, worship, singing, and a powerful take-home message. If you are thinking about checking us out on a Sunday morning, don't worry about not knowing anyone, dressing 'wrong,' or sitting in someone's favorite pew. Come however is comfortable for you. And plan on meeting someone who will get you where you need to go, set you up with a morning beverage, and answer any questions you might have.
Questions we hear a lot:
What kind of worship do you have?
Wesley has what's called 'blended' worship. There's always some centering silence, an eclectic blend of great music, a thought-provoking sermon, and time to share our joys and concerns together. We are a diverse bunch, and our worship reflects that; we don't divide ourselves up by age, or musical tastes. Wesley is one community of faith- devoted to Jesus Christ, service, and one another.
What about Sunday School?
We have Sunday school classes for all ages. Adult classes generally are offered at 9:00 and 9:45 am, while classes for kids and youth are offered at the 10:30 hour. On the first Sunday of each month, we offer Family Worship in the pews so that everyone may worship and celebrate Holy Communion together. On the succeeding Sundays, children and youth stay in worship through the Time With Children, and then proceed to their age-based classes.
Are children welcome in worship?
Yes! Children are always welcome in worship; and don't worry if they voice their questions and squirm a little; the curiosity and the wiggle add to our worship together. Parents are also welcome to bring their younger children to the nursery during worship or Sunday School, where they may leave their child in the caring hands of our trained staff.
